Super Bowl commercials offer corporations an excellent opportunity to promote their product. Big businesses are willing to invest vast amounts of money in Super Bowl commercials because an effective advertisement will significantly increase sales. On the flip side of the coin, bad Super Bowl commercials can damage corporations. Not only have they wasted the money it cost to make the commercial, but people might also remember their product for the wrong reasons. Some corporations take risks. The amusing Super Bowl commercial above was never shown because it is too risqué. In it, a man who tries to steal Bud Light from a bar is about to get his just deserts. He hides under a bottle opener to avoid detection and a crowd comes in to watch the game. He knows what is coming because he's already been hit in his nether regions once. Anheuser-Busch, Inc. took a gamble when they made the commercial, and in this case, it didn't pay off. Fortunately for major corporations, many Super Bowl Commercials do make the cut. If these commercials also make us laugh, then we tend to buy the product.
