The NFL choses the location of the Super Bowl, usually 3-5 years before the game. Cities bid to host the game and are evaluated by various criteria including stadium renovation , parking, transportation, seating capacity, weather, and accomodations among other items.

 

The selection is made in Chicago by NFL owners. The sites for the next 4 Super Bowls are set up to Super Bowl XLV.  Tampa, Florida for XLIII, Miami, Florida for Super Bowl XLIV and Arlington, Texas for Super Bowl XLV are the future sites.
